Basics of Flash™ CS3 Overview
This course will introduce you to Flash™ animation and design.
We will focus on:
- Basic Flash™ animation and ActionScripting
- Basic Web design theory, layout, and learning content
- Animation design and development using the web & design authoring software, Adobe™ Flash CS3
Emphasis will be placed on:
- Learning basic Flash™ animation
- Design
- Learning the Flash™ CS3 software
- Practice, Practice, Practice!
- Apply your new design skills
Upon completion of this course, you should be able to create informative and effectively learning design principles.
Goals of this course are:
- Understanding technical and graphical fundamentals of Flash CS3
- Understanding of basic Flash™ CS3 ActionScripting
- Understanding web page design and editing for learning content
You will be evaluated both on the basis of your design processes and the final works you produce with the tools you have learned.
Plan on committing around 6 or more hours per week outside of class with this course.
There is a lot of material to cover. Flash™ is fun but can be frustrating to learn, so commit yourself to completing your coursework (readings, projects, etc.)! When you begin to see your animations come together and come alive, it's very exciting!
Most importantly, Flash™ design and development takes practice, practice, and more practice.
You will have several small projects throughout the course and one Final project to showcase what you have learned.
